a message from the worshipful master
Greetings Brothers! As the new Worshipful Master of Roswell Lodge # 165 I wanted to formally introduce myself to you if we haven’t already met. I would also like to encourage you to start attending lodge as well as taking this first step in reintroducing to you a monthly newsletter from the lodge.

My name is Mike Holland, I was raised in 2002 here at Roswell Lodge 165 and I am 34 years of age. As you can see by my Masonic Birth Date, that I am a young Mason, having traveled to the East in 5 short years. I went straight into the chairs as Senior Steward, then skipped Junior Deacon. I am also a dual member with Grand Blanc Lodge # 571 in Grand Blanc, Michigan and a member of Scottish Rites.

I am originally from Greenville, Ohio and was executive relocated to Atlanta in 1996 by a for-
mer employer. Currently, I am the owner/operators of two companies, the first is Net-Flow Solutions which is an IT Consultancy and Value Added Service Provider targeting Fortune 1000, Government, and Non-Profit Organizations. The second company, is the Georgia Poker Association, Inc . The GPA operates Texas Holdem Poker Tournaments in Sports Bars and Restaurants around Atlanta.

When I have time to be home, I enjoy every second I can with my wife Teresa and two dogs Jack & Vickie.

Giving you reasons to attend lodge. I may not have 20 years in as a Master Mason, but I know how routine it becomes to have diner, open lodge, pay our bills, and then close. It almost at times seems like a race to see how fast we can get through it all. So, I am going to try to change that a little, as you can see by the column to the right of this one, we will have a presentation or special event scheduled at the lodge at least once a month.

I have two goals this year, and already it seems like I am behind the 8 ball for one of them. My goals to me are not unreasonable at all. They are simply to serve you to the best of my ability and to increase lodge attendance. The first goal is easily achievable, and I will constantly strive to do this every day that I am your Worshipful Master. Unfortunately, my second goal will be the hard one. The hard one? Increase attendance? Yes, Brothers, I can not implore with you enough that I need your assistance! We don’t even have a enough volunteers to fill the chairs.

This last year we had the best BBQ we have had in a very long time. Why?

Because we all got on the phone and asked one another to help out at the event. So now, I am asking each and everyone of you, if at all possible consider helping your lodge. Help us by thinking about taking an officer’s chair, think about if you can help out at one of our upcoming charity events, and think about just stopping in to a couple meetings this year...

Also I want to remind you that we have a new website please check out the hard work of Brother J.D. Jordan and that this newsletter can also come to you via email. So please email me with your current email address if you would like to receive it electronically.

Thank you all for your time, I hope to see you at lodge this year.

Fraternally Yours,

Mike Holland, WM
