Roswell Masonic Lodge 165 opened its doors to
the public to share a new outreach program to veterans,
HELPUSHELPVETS.org. Veterans administration expert
and local trust attorney James Swain, was introduced
by Lodge brother Lee W Hollingsworth, CFA, and revealed
some little known benefit programs available to Vets
and their wives or widows. To qualify, a veteran only
has to have served at least one day in any war period.
Income limits are adjusted for medical expenses,
“We find tragic situations where elderly couples
are struggling to care for one another, with rising
medical bills eviscerating their income”, said
attorney Swain. “These programs can provide desperately
needed support that these brave men and women have
earned many times over.”
“Awareness is critical,” added Hollingsworth. “We
are asking all Veterans groups, churches, and civic
organizations to inform themselves and then reach out
to Veterans and/or their widows in their communities.
That is why we created HELPUSHELPVETS.org. Many of
our ex-service people are struggling in the shadows
of society. Whether the obstacle is internet access,
bureaucracy, or lack of knowledge, we are asking everyone
to look outside themselves and reach out. We live a
life of liberty because of these people. We owe them”.
“Where else can you be a true HERO to someone
financially without it costing a cent?” attorney
Swain summed up. Any group, veteran, friend or relative
of a veteran, is encouraged to go to the web-site,
HELPUSHELPVETS.org, and contact Jim Swain at 770-500-3074
or Lee Hollingsworth at 678-576-4838.
This program has been embraced by the Roswell East
Rotary Club, the American Legion, and the VFW. The
Roswell Lodge, and Masons everywhere, are pleased to
support such community enhancing and patriotic endeavors. |
